As part of Rawlings’s Pro Preferred series, this glove is crafted with top-end kip skin leather for a customized fit that breaks into each player’s specific needs. Kip skin has a tight grain structure, giving the shell a smooth look and a burly feel out of the box. It’s more rigid than other premium leathers, including steerhide, but has a lighter and more nimble feel after breaking in.
This model features Trout’s signature MT27 pattern, which the multi-time MLB all-star designed with help from Rawlings’s pro advisory staff. With a tall, 12.75″ profile, this glove is a perfect match for adult outfielders and younger players who are physically mature. One of the key elements that separate this Mike Trout model from other Pro Preferred gloves is the extra-deep trapeze web pocket. Premium cowhide laces flank a central kip skin column, giving this pocket maximum flexibility when you need to pull a deep shot back from the wall. Like all Pro Preferred models, this glove helps wick moisture away from skin on hot days with a high-performance, internal sheep skin lining.
